Achievements

"At the age of 11, I was learning Grade 8 piano examination pieces. I really enjoyed learning music, but stress and headaches were a constant companion, both from internal pressure and external expectations from my teachers. Now that I am a teacher myself, I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and filled with joy.

The question is - does this approach conflict with the speed of learning and achieving distinctions recognised by international adjudicators and official examiners from prestigious music schools, beyond the protected environment of the piano studio?

Having taught piano for 10 years and mentored over 50 students, I can confidently say that fun and serious learning can coexist. In most cases, when students take the initiative themselves, their passion and skills improve naturally. This internal motivation often leads to external rewards, such as excellent exam results or public performance success.

My piano teaching method combines the natural wonder of music with structured learning - balancing ear-based playing and strong sight-reading from the very beginning. This feel-play-read piano method blends Suzuki’s sensitivity and ear-based musicality with sight-reading skill, giving students both listening and reading fluency. This balance helps students avoid the common trap: great players who can't read or great readers who play without human emotions.

Piano Learning Bath in-house assessments

01

In-House Assessments

The C Piano Course Grade A-D is tailored especially for students between the ages of 4-8, leading to ABRSM Grade 1 and beyond. Each grade (12-16 units) is concluded with an in-house, teacher-led assessment. Each assessment includes two parts: performance and theory. The assessments are conducted during a lesson pre-scheduled with the parent. Performance assessments are conducted face-to-face, while music theory is assessed with an online quiz, completed by students towards the end of each grade. The teacher writes a report and hands out badges after a successful assessment!

Summer & End of Year Recitals

We organise student recital gatherings and parties every year to celebrate our students' growth and hard work. These events provide an opportunity for students to perform in front of an audience and learn from their peers' performances.
